Matyás Novák began to play the piano at the age of 5. He graduated from Grammar School J. K. Tyl in Hradec Kralove and the Pardubice Conservatoire, where he studied in the class of Jitka Fowler Fraňková. He currently attends Ivan Klánský’s class at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague. He also studies at the piano academy Incontri col Maestro in Imola, Italy, with Boris Petrushansky. Matyás tours both at home and abroad and has given recitals in many European countries, China, Thailand and the USA. His first album, released in 2017 was devoted to Franz Liszt, and in 2021 his second CD was published with Mozart’s Piano concertos, in cooperation with Wihan Quartet. He has received master classes from Vladimir Askhenazy, Dmitri Bashkirov, Andrea Bonatta, Justas Dvarionas, Grigory Gruzman, Iván Klánský, David Kuyken, Avedis Kouyoumdjian, Alexander Lonquich, Leonid Margarius and Antti Siirala, among others, and he is regularly invited to music festivals both at home and abroad, such as the Winter Chamber Music Festival in Røros (Norway, 2019), the International Music Festival Prague Spring (2019), the Bratislava Music Festival (Slovakia, 2019), the Bangkok International Piano Festival 2019 (Thailand, 2019), etc. He is a member of PETROF Art Family.
