Rafael Kyrychenko, born in the Azores Islands, began his studies at 5 years old with his mother, Cristina Pliousnina. Since then, he has travelled internationally achieving many prizes throughout Europe and the United States. He attended masterclasses with teachers such as Philippe Entremont, Dmitry Bashkirov, Sergei Edelman, Vitaly Samoshko, among others. Rafael performed in Geneva Congress Hall, Estonia Concert Hall, Palau de la Música Catalana, Sala Suggia da Casa da Música, Centro Cultural de Belém, Auditório da Fundação Gulbenkian, Flagey Studio 4, among others. Along with his solo recitals, Rafael has also performed under the baton of conductors such as Mikhail Jurowski, Philippe Entremont, Andris Poga, Joseph Swensen, Michael Schønwandt, among others. Having finished his studies in the Professional Course in the Madeira School of Arts, and also the Chapelle Musicale Reine Elisabeth under the mastership of Maria João Pires, he achieved the Bachelor's degree in the Royal Conservatory of Brussels with Great Distinction, with Daniel Blumenthal. Since 2019, Rafael is in the Imola Piano Academy with Leonid Margarius, and since 2021 he studies at the Reina Sofia School of Music with Milana Chernyavska in Madrid.
