Russia, 1987. Yulia Chaplina gave her concert debut at the age of 7, performing Bach’s Keyboard Concerto in F minor with the Rostov State Symphony Orchestra. Since then, she has toured extensively in Europe and Asia, most recently in Japan, Spain, Germany, Russia and Ukraine. First prizes in international piano competitions in Paris, Andorra, Kiev, Kharkov and St. Petersburg. After winning the First Prize and gold medal in the junior section of the 2004 Tchaikovsky International Competition, Yulia appeared as concert soloist in Moscow, Dubrovnik, Busan and Tokyo. She currently holds a full international scholarship at the Royal College of Music, where she is enrrolled in the second year of her postgraduate studies.
