Yinfei Wang

He was born in Shanghai (China) in 1986. He began his piano studies in his hometown at the age of four. Shortly thereafter he was awarded top prizes in several national competitions in China. He made his first public appearance at the age of seven in the Shanghai Concert Hall. His accomplishments include the top prizes in the 2009 Jacob Flier Piano Competition, the 2011 Miecyslaw Munz Competition at Manhattan School of Music, the 2011 Shande Ding Piano Competition in Shanghai and 2012 Five Towns Piano Competition in New York. In 2014 he was awarded in the 61st Washington International Piano Competition. He made his orchestral debut as soloist with the Hudson Valley Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Vladimir Feltsman. An avid chamber musician, he was a winner of the annual Lilian Fuchs Memorial Chamber Music Competition several times at the Manhattan School of Music. He received his Bachelor’s degree from the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, his Master’s degree and Professional Studies Certificate from the Manhattan School of Music as a student of Phillip Kawin. He is currently in the Doctoral Program at Manhattan School of Music, where he is continuing his studies with the same professor.
